Primary Responsibilities
Security guards protect people, property, and information. Their main duties include observing, reporting, and deterring criminal activity. They do not have the same authorities as police officers.
PSISA
The Private Security and Investigative Services Act (PSISA) governs security guards and private investigators in Ontario. Guards must be licensed and wear their licence while on duty.
